"I’d go back to Buenos Aires with Andrea and Gato in a flash. I needed less sleep and had more energy on this trip than any other I’ve taken! I’d like to bottle the formula. A major ingredient in that formula was the tour organization that Andrea and Gato provided.
Their personal attention is what made a good trip a great one. It started when we arrived and never stopped. On Day One we went directly to the guest house in San Telmo and were warmly greeted by Pablo, the owner, and his parents who had prepared a delicious barbecue for us. We sat outside under a fig tree on a warm afternoon, drinking Malbec, and eating grilled beef, olives and salad while getting to know some of the other international guests. This was the start to two weeks of daily treats. They ranged from small sensory pleasures such as a bouquet of gardenias in the room, a decadent cup of hot dark chocolate, freshly squeezed orange juice, a plate of carmel flan with dulce de leche and cream, to activities that lasted much longer. Andrea took us on a tour of a high downtown tower so I could get an aerial view of the city. Gato drove us to a gaucho ranch where we were caught in an amazing storm that made for a wonderful adventure. Together they took us on a private boat to the delta, on tours to the main sights of Buenos Aires, and shopping at flea markets, craft fairs and shoe stores. All of these excursions were customized for us (except I can’t give Gato credit for the storm). I was so happy to have these things planned and organized by Andrea and Gato who seemed to know exactly when and where to go and to plan wonderful stops for good food. On top of this, the lessons they arranged with other teachers were outstanding, they found great partners for us, and each day chose a milonga that had a really good orchestra or a great performance. Without fail we always had a fantastic table. We also went to an excellent tango show and had time to wander around neighborhoods on our own.
I had a ton of fun on this trip. Andrea and Gato took care of everything and that freed me up to focus on tango, seeing the city and taking photographs. And beyond that their personal enthusiasm for Argentina and tango added a touch of happiness to everything. This was my first trip to Buenos Aires and I’m already thinking of how to go back with them again."

"Hola amigos Gato and Andrea"
We miss you too! You took great care of us and did so much to make our time in Buenos Aires memorable. There are so many things we would not have done if we had tried to do the trip on our own: the asado the first day with Pablo, Osvaldo and Anna; The Fiera de Matadores, juego de sortiha, the day in the country, the tour of the city, the day in the delta, going to the best hat shops and shoe shops, the bar at the corner of Cochobamba and Defensa, Café San Juan, Alberto Podestá, Sexteto Milongero, San Souci Orchestra, your performance with Los Reyes del Tango Orchestra at Canning.
Gato, you are one of my close friends now. We missed drinking whisky in Bar Britanico until the patrons come in for breakfast. So of course, this means that we have to come back. What was the name of the Italian Restaurant we went to before Café Grisel? I really liked that. Thanks for driving us in your car. It was much better than a tour bus.
Andrea, please get better soon! You were so helpful when Marilynn and I needed it most. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
Enjoy the Buenos Aires primavera and your summer trip to Brazil. We eagerly look forward to seeing you in January.

Hi Andrea,
Wanted to let you know we had an easy trip home and are safe and sound. We've been editing our pictures today and reliving the incredibly wonderful time we had with you. I honestly don't think the trip could have been better in any way. Your expert and careful planning and attention to our every need and wish made us feel very well taken care of, and we both felt that we covered an amazing amount of ground. I had a list of highlights I'd gleaned from my guidebook that I'd hope to visit or experience, and we hit every one and more. We loved the depth and breadth of our experiences - everything from the vibrant city life to the beautiful estancia and delta, and, of course, the wonderful instruction and variety of milongas and shows. We don't know how you do it, but you are a gifted trip planner as well as a truly wonderful person. (We have some very cute pictures of you that we'll send along soon.)
Please tell Gato that we appreciate all of his efforts and kindness as well. Tom and I send you both our love and thanks for an exceptional introduction to Buenos Aires and a very memorable vacation. We'll look forward to seeing in Modesto.
Lots of love, Barbara, from Modesto (July 2008)

"This was the best trip ever. Buenos Aires is now my favorite city to visit, over Paris, over New York, and no doubt my experience is colored by Andreas and Gatos attentive tour. I loved the master tango teachers they brought to us, and the fact that we could practice at our villa. I know that our VIP experience at the various Milongas could only happen with Andrea and Gato. The specialized massages by certified medical clinicians was over the top. Meeting Argentine tango shoe makers and tango clothes tailors (with the special discount) was awesome! The weekly fairs, the music, the farmers market, the museums, the people, the food (Ive never had meat like this before, and Ive had Kobe), all of it made this trip so special that I will never forget it. I even want to retire in BA now. Three weeks wasnt enough, and I long to go back."

“I
had an absolutely fabulous time
on my Tango tour with Andrea and
Gato and would recommend the Tour
to anyone! The tour was not only
a tango adventure, but an introduction
to Buenos Aires meticulously and
thoughtfully tailored by Andrea
and Gato to match my every interest
and need. During the night we ate
and danced at milongas that had
been selected by our hosts with
the idea of exposing us to all varieties
of tango venues. During the days,
they arranged excursions to see
the many distinctive neighborhoods
that compose BA, the cemetery of
Recoleta, the barrio fairs with
their street dancers and trips to
the country to enjoy folk dancing,
gaucho traditions and the really
beautiful delta areas around the
river—all while consuming
generous amounts of food and wine!
Andrea and Gato arranged for massages
to refresh us after our long flight,
took us to the best shops for tango
shoes and clothing, got us the best
tables at the best milongas for
any given night and made sure that
the women had dancing partners available.
They spent countless hours before
we arrived looking for an apartment
for me and my two girlfriends for
the additional two weeks we stayed.
Andrea even arranged for me to meet
with her personal costume designer
to have a couture skirt made that
I couldn’t buy (or afford!!!)
in the United States. And she and
Gato made sure that, if our other
friends on the tour wanted to see
an opera or a ballet, the arrangements
were made. As a native of Buenos
Aires who is also fluent in English,
Andrea is the ideal guide. Because
they are professional Tango dancers
who are well known and respected
in Buenos Aires, we were provided
insights and introductions to the
Tango scene that would not have
been available on other tours. Andrea
and Gato were tireless in their
efforts to make our experiences
in Buenos Aires complete and rewarding.
I strongly recommend their tour
and plan to go again with them next
year!”

"Dear Gato and Andrea
We wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had. We loved being with you, watching you perform and taking your classes. Of all the classes we attended yours we're the best. There is so much we could learn from you. But it's also all the extras that we truly appreciate. You really created a wonderful vacation. We loved all the sight-seeing, the tour of the city, the trip to Colonia, the day at San Telmo, the shopping for tango shoes. Every day was so carefully and beautifully planned so that we were able to see as much as possible. I especially appreciate your time and patience in planning our trips to Iguazu and Punta del Este. It's quite amazing how you were able to coordinate every person's schedule and take them where they needed to be. It must be an incredible amount of work and aggravation but you were always so gracious about it. Whether it was a schedule for ballet classes or the names and addresses of hair dressers you did it all. I really loved being able to take ballet classes in BA. My poor Spanish wasn't a problem in the universal language of dance. What a stroke of luck for me to be able to watch the ballet company rehearse just a few meters away during our tour of the Colon Theatre. Looking at the pictures you sent brought it all back...it was a visual journal of the 2 weeks. Ed and I agree that our highest recommendation is that we would do it again in a heartbeat. I hope you are having a chance to rest and relax now. We love you and can't wait to see you in Sacramento."

making our visit to your beautiful
country such a wonderful experience!
Memories and friendships were made
that will forever remain in our

"...Wow!!
What a great trip! I am still recovering
and wishing I were still there.
I want to thank you and Gato for
all the work you put into planning
this trip. The days were full of
wonder and excitement. We discovered
new things everyday. I appreciated
the tango lessons and lively milongas
at night. I still see tango dancers
when I close my eyes, and can hear
the music inside my head. Thank
you too, for my last day with Zeta,
and the special ride to airport
with Gato at the wheel. I will try
to continue with lessons here, and
look forward to seeing you in September.
I will never forget my Tango trip.
Thanks, you made it happen!!
Con mucho cariño, les mando
besos y abrazos,
Lupe"

"Andrea
Y Gato,
Thank you for a wonderful trip. I
have a great experience in Buenos
Aires. It was a very well organized
trip and every detail has been thought
thru and atteneded to.
As we went to the different milongas
and recognized familiar faces, I realized
that those are the local people's
favortie milongas.
The trip was very well balanced between
tango and sightseeing. The tango classes
arranged were exactly what we needed
to be able to navigate in a crowded
milonga and the teachers were wonderful
people.
We were never left alone without knowing
how to get around.
The only things I'd like to be different
is to have an aisle seat on the plane
and if there are non-smoking milongas.
I'd go again with tours organized
by you and strongly recommend it to
my friends. I felt that the tour is
very personal.
Looking forward to seeing you in September.
