BUENOS
AIRES BY NIGHT |
|
|
Buenos
Aires’ nightlife is extremely
rich and exciting. “Porteños”
usually go out at crazy hours of the
night, and it can truly be said that
their city itself never sleeps: clubs,
restaurants, bars and cafés
are all over Buenos Aires.
Along our visit, we trace the historical
evolution of this gigantic, cosmopolitan
city, visiting its most distinctive
“barrios” and learning
about the cultural icons that helped
create the city’s distinctive
identity, as tango, folklore, “fútbol”
and nightlife.
Our journey begins at Plaza de Mayo,
where the city was first founded.
We get a chance to admire the Pink
House, the Cathedral and the Cabildo,
which is the primitive Town Hall,
all very charmingly lighted. Then
we head for the traditional barrio
of San Telmo, where we pay a visit
to one of its emblematic “tanguerías”,
as well as the adorable Plaza Dorrego,
conveniently flanked by lovely, and
very busy indeed, cosy bars and little
restaurants.
Then we take a stroll around Puerto
Madero, which could legitimately be
called a boutique residential and
commercial district. Its four docks
host business offices, as well as
private apartments, cinemas, clubs,
bars and every kind of restaurant
you could imagine.
Then we make it for Retiro and Recoleta,
where we’ll have the chance
to admire the city’s most fatuous
quarters beautifully lighted. There
we’ll se the splendid San Martín
Square, the National Fine Arts Museum
and the magnificent monuments and
sculptures placed nearby. As we continue
on northwards, we arrive at the up-and-coming
barrio of Palermo, where we’ll
get acquainted with the district’s
New-Yorkers reveries, and maybe pay
a visit to one of its trendy, cosmopolitan
bars and clubs.

VISIT TO SAN
ISIDRO AND TIGRE & LUNCH
IN TIGRE’S DELTA
|
|
|
As
we head towards
the Northern suburbs,
we leave behind
the grey city concrete
and start out our
adventure in the
old argentine working
fields, nowadays
the most exclusive
residential area:
Vicente López,
Olivos, Martínez,
Acassuso, San Isidro
and Tigre. This
trip combines historical
and natural attractions
with the magnificent
scenery of the Paraná
River Delta, a 14.000
square km. natural
wonder.
We’ll make
a stop in San
Isidro,
an elegant and peaceful
residential district,
where we’ll
visit the well-preserved
historical quarters.
There we’ll
have the chance
to admire the impressive
Cathedral, the lovely
belvedere and the
old private residences,
which used to belong
to some of the most
traditional families
in Argentine history.
We will then leave
for Tigre,
and after a visit
to Paseo Victorica,
where we’ll
have the chance
to admire its gorgeous
architecture, we’ll
sail across the
Delta, among luscious
green little islands,
and typical fauna.
We’ll stop
at one of these
islands, after our
skilful captain
has been able to
sail along the narrow
Delta channels,
and we’ll
have lunch at “Gato
Blanco”
This renowned restaurant
offers regional
and international
cuisine in a breathtaking
scenario.
